Project Description
MedEuropa is one of the top radiation therapy clinics in Romania, with state-of-the art radiation technology – Elekta Versa HD, Elekta Infinity (3D, VMAT/IMRT, stereotactic radiotherapy, radiosurgery), offering curative and palliative radiation therapy, with day hospitalization. MedEuropa currently operates four clinics specialized in cancer treatment, located in Bucharest, Constanta, Oradea and Brasov, each of the four medical facilities having a yearly treatment capacity of over 1000 patients. MedEuropa’s objective is to reach a total of 10 radiation therapy clinics in Romania in 5 years’ time.
The success of MedEuropa’s team relies on the common efforts of skilled medical professionals, trained in reference centers located in Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain. Continuous training, daily work meetings and encouraging multidisciplinary approach as mandatory professional conduct lay at the foundation of the activity of MedEuropa centers, with the final goal to offer cancer patients the best examination, precise diagnosis and the most suitable treatment options. Access to treatment is free of charge for Romanian patients, as it is covered by the National Insurance System – the National Radiotherapy Program.
At MedEuropa, the management of cancer patients is by multi-disciplinary, customized approach. Without exception, therapeutic strategy is initiated following a thorough analysis performed by the oncologic commission – the “Tumor Board”, meeting daily and functioning according to well established rules, national and international guidelines (RTOG, NCCN, ESMO, NCI) and offering patients the certainty of a precise diagnosis, the best examination and optimal treatment. The Tumor Board is mandatorily composed of medical oncologist, oncologic surgeons specialized in various cancer localizations, radiation therapy specialist, pathologist, psychologist. Other specialists may add to the team, according to the case requirements. A cancer patient has chances of being cured, of ameliorating or improving the quality of life only with a treatment plan developed by medical professionals specialized in this field, relying on national and international guidelines.
